Yogi Cabinet has given 20 percent reservation to former firefighters in the recruitment of 4 departments, they will have to give only medical, written and physical exemption.

Lucknow. Yogi Government has made the path of government job easier for the former Agniveer youth who have served in the Indian Army. In the cabinet meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, amendments in the rules related to recruitment of former firefighters were approved. Under this, former firefighters will get 20 percent reservation in the recruitment of Police, Forest, Prison and Transport Department. Along with giving three years relaxation in the maximum age limit, the government has also decided to give exemption from written and physical examination. Former firefighters will have to undergo only medical examination. This arrangement will provide great relief to the youth preparing for government jobs after completing military service.

After the cabinet meeting, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that the recruitment process under the Agniveer scheme had started in the year 2022. In view of this, the state government has amended the rules related to the appointment of former firefighters.

20 percent reservation in recruitment of four departments

A provision of 20 percent reservation has been made for former firefighters in the police, forest, prison and transport departments of the state. Candidates will get the benefit of reservation as per their original category. With this, the youth who have completed military service will get better opportunities for appointment in government services of the state.

The maximum age limit for former firefighters has been increased from 25 years to 28 years. With this relaxation of three years, youth desirous of getting a government job after military service will get additional time to apply. Former firefighters will not have to give written and physical examination for recruitment in these departments. They will only have to undergo medical examination. This will be an important concession in the recruitment process for the youth undergoing military training.

Opportunity to serve the state after military service

Employment after completion of service period is an important topic for the youth joining the army under Agniveer Yojana. By amending the recruitment rules, the Yogi government has made it easier for such youth to move forward in the government services of the state. With this, the youth who have experience of military training and discipline will get an opportunity to serve the country in Uttar Pradesh also.
