The whole matter is related to a protest demonstration taking place at Jantar Mantar. Cockroach Janata Party had informed the police about protesting here on October 10. According to the police, the application for protest was given by Saurav Das on the 7th, that is, the letter was received by the police on the 7th. In this letter it was written that a demonstration would be held on the 10th. That means only three days were left for the performance date. Police said the letter was received a short time ago and was not delivered within the stipulated time. According to the current guidelines, protesters have to seek permission from the police at least 10 days in advance. That is, if the protest was to be held on October 10, the application should have come much before that. Police say that the information received was not as per the prescribed procedure and guidelines. For this reason, the proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar was not allowed.

Police said that earlier on another occasion the party had been given permission to protest. It is alleged that during that time the party did not follow the legal instructions and the undertaking given by it. Undertaking means the promise which is given at the time of permission. Police said that non-compliance of earlier instructions was also a reason for not granting permission this time.
Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code i.e. BNSS is applicable in New Delhi area. According to the police, precautionary restrictions have been imposed under this to maintain public order and security. Police warned that legal action will be taken against anyone who does not follow Section 163. Appropriate legal action will also be taken against activities like damaging public property as per the prior instructions of the courts.
The police reiterated in the press conference that maintaining public safety, law and order and traffic order is its priority. According to the police, the decision to deny permission has been taken keeping in mind the non-compliance of earlier instructions and the current circumstances. That is, the police have cited late information, previous violations and applicable Section 163 as the basis for the decision. During the press conference, police officials said that some additional details related to the permission could be provided later. Till now only this much information has been revealed about this, and whatever further details are received will be added to this news.
