Mumbai Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has been ordered by the Delhi High Court to appear in the court. The court has directed the veteran actor to personally appear before the court in a 4-year-old case related to personality rights. The bench of Justice Purashendra Kumar Kaurav has told him that if a settlement cannot be reached in the case related to his personality rights and he wants to take the case forward, then he himself will have to be present during the hearing. Justice Purshendra Kumar Kaurav gave these directions when the court was told that a settlement had been reached with some of the defendants through mediation, but due to some practical difficulties on the part of Amitabh Bachchan, the agreement could not be formally signed.
According to the information, the court has given time to Amitabh Bachchan to complete the necessary formalities and has fixed November 16 as the date of next hearing. During this, the court said that if the agreement is not reached or remains incomplete, then Mr. Bachchan will have to be personally present in the next hearing. In this petition, he had demanded to stop the misuse of his name, identity, picture and voice without permission. He said that many people are using his popularity for their own benefit without his permission. Famous lawyer Harish Salve had presented the case in the court on behalf of Amitabh Bachchan. It was told in the petition that some people were using the name of Amitabh Bachchan for lottery related activities.
