There will be no quarterly bonus
Senior employees of TCS will not get their quarterly bonus. The decision was taken after India's largest IT company failed to meet its performance targets. According to a Reuters report, citing an internal memo, the entire variable pay of some employees has been withheld for the first time in at least two years.
According to the news agency, Chief Human Resources Officer Sudeep Kunnumal said in a memo, “This decision has been taken after careful consideration, as our performance for the quarter fell short of internal targets.” The report also said that TCS did not respond to queries.
Quarterly Variable Allowance will be withheld
According to Kunnumal's memo, the quarterly variable allowance called QVA for employees of “C3A grade and above” will be withheld. According to the report, employees in the C3A grade and above at the country's largest IT services company typically have 7-10 years of experience or hold senior-level management positions. The memo states that junior-level employees will get 100% of their entitlements.

The tech company typically offers 50-100% variable pay, employees told Reuters. He said this is the first time in at least two years that the company has clearly stated that no bonus will be paid. Notably, TCS posted its weakest September quarter revenue growth in three years, indicating continued pressure on demand for traditional IT services, while artificial intelligence (AI) revenue grew by around 20%. But on Friday, Oct. 9, investors were cheered by an increase in AI revenue, and the stock rose 6.2%.
