Gift of two free refills in the financial year 2026-27
Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet meeting, Food and Logistics Minister Manoj Pandey said that this scheme will be fully effective for the financial year 2026-27. The government has decided that the first free cylinder will be made available between October and December 2026 on the occasion of Diwali. After this, the second free cylinder will be given on the holy festival of Holi between January to March 2027. To implement this entire welfare scheme, the state government is going to spend a huge amount of Rs 2142.78 crore from its treasury. The direct objective of this decision is to support the household budget of poor women and families during festivals.
Necessary arrangements related to eligibility and bank account
To avail the benefits of this scheme, some important rules have also been decided so that the help reaches the right hands directly. The benefit of the scheme will be given only to those Ujjwala beneficiaries whose bank accounts are fully active and linked to Aadhaar card. Along with this, it has also been made mandatory to complete the process of Aadhaar authentication. This has been done so that there is no irregularity and the subsidy money can reach the beneficiary's account directly. Yogi government has been continuously distributing two free cylinders on every Diwali and Holi for the last several years. The government believes that this step will increase the use of clean fuel in villages and towns and women will be freed from the harmful smoke of stove forever.
