The Bully is a dangerous four-legged machine in ARC Raiders. Added with the Frozen Trail update, it charges Raiders, launches cluster grenades, and fires a powerful close-range weapon. Learn its attacks and target its weak points to improve your chances.
Where to Find the Bully
The Bully appears on snowy Pendola Pass, added in the Frozen Trail update. Its spawn varies between raids, and the Railyard is a useful place to search.
Listen for the machine and scan before approaching. Mark it for your squad, then move behind rocks, buildings, or train cars. Avoid fighting in exposed areas.
Understand Its Main Attacks
Knowing the Bully’s attacks is essential to surviving the encounter.
- Cluster Grenades: At range, the Bully launches projectiles that split into smaller explosives. Keep moving when they land and leave the blast area.
- Close-Range Gunfire: When you get too close, its mounted weapon fires a dangerous spread of shots. The turret can rotate widely, so running behind the machine does not guarantee safety.
- Charging Attack: The Bully rushes towards you at high speed and can knock you down if it connects. Trying to outrun it across open ground is unreliable.
Use cover to interrupt its approach, and always leave yourself a route to retreat. Do not focus so hard on dealing damage that you miss its next attack.
Aim for the Weak Points
The Bully’s body is heavily armoured, so firing repeatedly into its main frame wastes ammunition. Instead, concentrate on its leg joints. These areas are more vulnerable, although they can be difficult to hit because the machine rarely stays still.
Wait for the Bully to charge, sidestep its attack, and fire at its legs while it turns around. It may run past your position, giving you a better chance to aim. Keep your shots controlled rather than spraying ammunition at the entire body.
Its head can also expose a vulnerable area when it opens during an attack. If you can land accurate shots during this brief window, use the opportunity to deal extra damage. Return to the legs when the opening disappears.
Some objectives do not require you to destroy the entire machine. Depending on the task, destroying its head or disabling all four legs can also count. Check the objective text before spending extra ammunition.
Choose Your Weapons and Equipment
Heavy-ammunition weapons are a strong choice against the Bully’s armour. Bring enough ammunition for a prolonged fight, along with healing items and a suitable shield. Explosives can help, especially when placed along the Bully’s usual charge path.
Prepare with:
- A reliable weapon that can hit the legs accurately.
- Extra ammunition for a longer encounter.
- Healing supplies to recover between attacks.
- Explosives or control equipment to create a damage window.
A Tether Launcher can briefly restrict the Bully’s movement, while a Snap Blast or another explosive can punish it when its path is predictable. Use equipment available in your current loadout.
Before engaging, make sure your escape route is clear and avoid spending every resource on the first few shots. If the Bully keeps pressure on your position, reposition behind another obstacle instead of holding the same angle. Reload during safe pauses, not while it is charging towards you.
Fight as a Team
A squad can divide roles. One player baits the charge while teammates attack the legs from safer angles. Fire when the Bully turns away, and avoid standing close together. Watch for other ARC machines and rival Raiders, since the fight may attract unwanted attention.
Collect Your Reward and Extract
Once the Bully is destroyed, search the wreckage for a Bully Fragmenter. This item is useful for crafting and progression. Do not let the excitement of winning distract you from your extraction plan.
Before leaving, reload, heal, check your surroundings, and choose a safe route. Pendola Pass has environmental hazards, so keep track of nearby shelter and your remaining supplies.
