Raipur. A case of murder of a youth has come to light in a dispute over dancing during a procession near Swarn Jayanti Chowk in Amlidih of New Rajendra Nagar police station area of the capital Raipur.
During the dispute, a conflicted child allegedly hit the young man on his thigh with a paper cutter. The seriously injured youth died during treatment in the hospital.
Within a few hours of the incident, the police caught the accused child. Police have also seized the paper cutter used in the incident.
Controversy occurred during dancing
According to information received from the police, the incident occurred on Saturday night, October 10. Dhumal was arranged by the committee during the procession organized in the locality at Golden Jubilee Chowk in Amlidih.
Local people had reached the square to join the procession at around 10 pm. During this time Gaurav Sen was also present there.
While dancing, there was a scuffle between Gaurav and another boy. The controversy escalated within no time. It is alleged that during this time the boy stabbed Gaurav near his thigh with a sharp paper cutter lying nearby and fled from the spot.
Died during treatment in hospital
On getting information about the incident, Gaurav’s elder brother Ajay Sen reached the spot. He saw his brother in a pool of blood.
Gaurav was taken to the hospital for treatment, where he died during treatment. After this Ajay Sen lodged a report at New Rajendra Nagar police station.
The police registered the offense of murder under section 103(1) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) under crime number 363/26 and started investigation.
Joint team caught within few hours
Considering the seriousness of the incident, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and New Rajendra Nagar police station under the direction of senior officers inspected the incident site.
The police team gathered information about the incident by interrogating the relatives of the deceased and the people present nearby. Taking prompt action, the police caught the boy involved in the incident, who was struggling with the law, within a few hours of the incident.
During interrogation, he admitted to stabbing with a paper cutter.
According to the police, during interrogation the child told that after a dispute during dancing, he had picked up a paper cutter used in the tent and stabbed Gaurav near his thigh. After this he fled from the spot.
Police have seized the paper cutter used in the incident. In this case, advance legal action has been taken against the child who is in conflict with the law.
