The loyal fans of He-Man can now look up to one of their favorite retro gaming adventures. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction is bringing Eternia back to the world of retro gaming.
Developed by Bitmap Bureau and published by Limited Run Games, the new 2D beat ’em up draws inspiration from the classic 1980s animated series. The game launches on February 4, 2027, with digital and physical editions planned.
Pre-orders for the physical releases are now open, including a Collector’s Edition packed with merchandise for longtime fans.
What to expect from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction
The game follows He-Man and his allies as they fight to stop Skeletor and his forces from plunging Eternia into darkness. Players can take control of He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and She-Ra, with each character offering distinct fighting styles and abilities. The adventure spans 13 stages, including the Royal Palace, Vine Jungle, and Snake Mountain.
The side-scrolling brawler features detailed pixel art inspired by the original cartoon. Players can fight alone or team up with a friend through two-player local co-op. Battle Cat also joins the action, helping He-Man take on enemies across Eternia.
The villain roster includes Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, and Trap Jaw, alongside Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts.
The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The standard digital version costs $29.99, while physical editions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S are available through Limited Run Games.
The Standard Edition costs $29.99 and includes the game, a booklet, a physical case with cover art by Freddie Williams II, and a foil-embossed slipcover.
