New Delhi: On the third day of Shardiya Navratri, Maa Chandraghanta, the third form of Maa Durga, is worshipped. This year Maa Chandraghanta will be worshiped on 13th October. According to religious beliefs, this form of the goddess is a symbol of courage, strength and peace. An hour-shaped crescent moon is adorned on the mother's forehead, that is why she is called Chandraghanta. The ten-armed mother has various weapons in her hands and her vehicle is a lion. It is believed that worshiping mother removes fear and increases self-confidence.

Remedies for relief from Mangal Dosh
According to astrological beliefs, Mother Chandraghanta is considered to be related to the planet Mars. If Mars is weak in the horoscope or there is Mangal Dosh, worshiping the Goddess on this day is considered auspicious. For this, red flowers and copper objects can be offered to the mother. Worship with devotion by offering pudding or dry fruits.
After this, chant the mantra 'Om Am Angarkaya Namah'. There is a religious belief that doing this increases courage and positivity. However, there is no scientific evidence for the results of these measures.
Mythological story of Maa Chandraghanta
According to the legend, a demon named Mahishasura defeated the gods and took control of heaven. The distressed gods sought help from Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. After this, Goddess Durga appeared with the powers of the three gods. All the gods provided him with their divine weapons. Riding on a lion, the goddess fought against Mahishasura and his army. At last he killed the demon and freed the gods from his terror. The form of Mother Chandraghanta is considered a symbol of this power and bravery. Devotees believe that worshiping him brings fearlessness in the mind and inspires him to face difficult situations.
