Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly is located there. The party plans to declare candidates for four seats in November.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has started the process of selecting candidates for Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in Agra district. After declaring Neeraj Rawat as the candidate for Kheragarh seat, now preparations are on to announce the name of the candidate for Athampur seat. The party plans to announce the names of candidates for the four assembly seats in the district in November.

BSP declared Neeraj Rawat as its candidate for Kheragarh Assembly seat on 16 September. Now the process of finalizing the candidates for Atmadpur seat is going on. Baghel's name has come up for discussion among the possible candidates for this seat.

The party wants to announce the name of the candidate by holding a public meeting in Atmadpur. For this purpose, a demand has been made to invite BSP National Coordinator Akash Anand to the meeting. Local party officials feel that in his presence youth participation will increase and the election campaign will gain momentum.

According to BSP chief divisional in-charge Bimal Barmar, a decision may be taken soon on Atmadpur seat. But the name of the candidate has not been officially announced yet.

After Atmadpur, BSP is preparing to announce the names of candidates for Fatehabad and Fatehpur Sikri assembly seats. In Fatehabad, first there was discussion about fielding a candidate from the Thakur community. But after the death of BJP MLA Chhote Lal Barmar, the issue of giving priority to a candidate from the Nishaad community has come to light.

A list of possible candidates from Thakur and Brahmin communities has been prepared for the फटेहपुर सिक्री seat. In the party's strategy, importance is being given to including Dalit voters as well as upper caste and backward class voters.

Apart from this, it is reported that a list of possible candidates has also been prepared for Agra North, Agra South, Agra Rural, Agra Cantonment and Bah assembly seats. There are four to ten names of possible candidates for these seats.

The past election results of Agra district of BSP are a challenge for the party. In the assembly elections of 2007 and 2022, the party won six out of nine seats in the district. In 2009, Seema Upa Dhyay won from Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha seat on BSP ticket.

But in the assembly elections of 2027 and 2022, BSP did not win any seat in the district. Despite this, the party is trying to activate organizational activities by announcing candidates before the upcoming elections.

According to BSP's plan, names of candidates will be announced for four assembly seats in Agra district in November. While selecting candidates, local equations, participation of various social groups and strength of organization are being taken into consideration. The final decision on Atmadpur and other seats will be clear only after the official announcement of the party.
