Nagarjuna recently took a trip down memory lane and recalled Ranbir Kapoor’s obsession with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.
The 67-year-old actor, who is known for his extensive work in Telugu cinema, revealed what kept the Rockstar star distracted while shooting Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva in 2022.
During a conversation with the EveryDay Cinema YouTube channel, the Telugu actor spoke at length about the reason behind Kapoor’s dedication to the 2023 action-crime film.
Speaking exclusively, he said, “He was talking only about Animal, which had yet to commence shooting at that time. He kept showing me scenes from Arjun Reddy, not even Kabir Singh. At one point, he showed me the scene where Arjun Reddy (Vijay Devarakonda) kisses a girl and exclaimed, ‘Look how real it is!’ He was very excited to start Animal even while working on a massive project like Brahmastra.”
Besides Nagarjuna, Ram Gopal Varma was also present during the chit-chat session and shared his thoughts on the Tamasha star.
The Siva director added, “Ranbir Kapoor never had any doubts because everything felt new and he had no references.”
Meanwhile, Animal’s filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently gearing up for his upcoming directorial venture, Spiritwhich is slated for release on March 5, 2027. The film features Prabhas and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles.
Kapoor, on the other hand, is set to play Lord Rama in his highly anticipated mythological saga, Ramayana. The project will hit the big screens on Thursday, November 5.
Animal also starred Tripti Dimrii, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and several others. The film emerged as a massive commercial blockbuster despite facing heavy criticism for its controversial themes.
