As Tom Cruise prepares for Days of Thunder 2it remains unclear which original cast members will return for the sequel. In a recent interview with News, John C. Reilly discussed whether he would reprise his role as the racing pit crew member.

During the interview, Reilly was asked whether he would return for Days of Thunder 2. In response, the actor said, “I don’t know. In general, I’m not that interested in sequels. The most exciting thing about telling a story is that no one knows it yet. You’re bringing a new idea to people, and that’s what really gets me excited about stuff.”

He continued, “But I really wish Tom well. I’ve done two NASCAR movies now. I did Talladega Nights and Days of Thunder. So I don’t know. You never know what’s going to come your way, but I wish Tom well with that movie, and I wish Jerry Bruckheimer well. And those guys believed in me, like you said, at a very early point in my career. So I’m grateful to them, and I hope they make a great movie.”
