In fact, all three MLAs had cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections in 2024. Rakesh Pratap Singh is MLA from Gauriganj seat of Amethi. Abhay Singh is MLA from Gosainganj seat of Ayodhya and Vinod Chaturvedi from Kalpi assembly seat of Jalaun. All of them had won the elections in 2022 on SP ticket. On Wednesday, supporters of the three MLAs also took membership of BJP.

In this program, BJP National General Secretary Smriti Irani targeted SP. He said that SP's cycle has been punctured by BJP, Congress cannot contest elections on its own, Congress is raising questions on the Election Commission, it is not a membership but a resolution ceremony program.
