Hong Kong ends HCMC’s 6-year streak as Asia’s best MICE destination

Ho Chi Minh City’s six-year reign as “Asia’s Best MICE Destination” ended this week, with Hong Kong usurping the title at the World MICE Awards in Jamaica.

The awards were announced at the seventh annual ceremony held at Princess Grand Jamaica on Monday.

The award to Hong Kong recognizes destinations serving the meetings, incentive travel, conferences, and exhibitions industry, commonly known as MICE.

Incentive travel refers to trips businesses arrange to reward employees or partners.

The World MICE Awards also honor hotels and airlines.

Until Hong Kong’s win this year, HCMC had won all six years since the award was instituted in 2020.

There was one Vietnamese winner this year: tour company Vietravel, which was named the world’s best MICE organizer.

Other Asian winners included Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Center for being the world’s best MICE event venue, and Malaysia Airlines for world’s best MICE airline.
