Action after joining the demonstration
According to the information, Imran Khan had recently reached the protest organized at August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai. This demonstration was done against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Imran had clarified while talking to the media that he had not participated in the protest on behalf of any political party or organisation, but had come as a common citizen to support the protesters.
Mumbai Police also detained him during the demonstration. After this, the police registered an FIR against Imran Khan and others at Gavdevi police station.
Why did FRRO issue notice?
According to the report, FRRO has taken this step on the basis of alleged violation of immigration rules and visa conditions. Imran Khan is not an Indian citizen. He was born in America and holds American citizenship. He was living in India on a work visa.
The Mumbai Police team handed over the FRRO notice to Imran Khan, which he accepted. In the notice, instructions have been given to leave India before October 28.

Opposition in political circles too
Political reactions have also emerged on this matter. NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule opposed the action, saying it was wrong to send a person out of the country for participating in protests.
At the same time, former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya had also raised questions on Imran Khan's participation in the protest. He had reached the police station to lodge a complaint and demand an FIR in this matter.
Currently, the case has sparked debate over citizenship, visa rules and participation of foreign nationals in protests. All eyes will be on the basis explained behind FRRO's action and the further legal process.
