New Delhi. India has expressed a strong reaction to the incident of a conspiracy of mass shooting targeting Hindus in a Hindu temple in the Aurora area of America. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, while answering media questions in this regard, said that he is extremely concerned about the news of an alleged conspiracy to target a Hindu temple in Aurora area of Illinois and carry out mass shooting. The incident adds to growing concerns over racist hostility and anti-India hatred in the US.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said there is a need to exercise greater vigilance, adopt a policy of 'zero tolerance' towards hate-motivated violence and take decisive action to ensure the safety of the Indian community. We hope that the US authorities will thoroughly investigate this matter, bring the culprits to justice, and take all necessary steps to prevent such incidents. Jaiswal said the anti-Hindu and racist nature of this alleged plot, which also includes calls for violence against people of Indian origin, is particularly worrying. He said that we have taken note of the actions taken by US law enforcement agencies, including the arrest and detention of the suspect and the charges against him.

It is noteworthy that America Palatine Police has foiled the plot to attack the Hindu temple and arrested 19 year old accused Alexandros Papourakis. Police say that accused Alexandros Papourakis had planned to carry out mass shooting in a Hindu temple in Aurora area during Navratri. Police have recovered a rifle, a large number of cartridges, several magazines, body armor vest and many other tactical equipment from his house. Apart from this, a document titled 'Why did I fight' has also been seized from there by the police.
