News Desk. There is news of relief for the people of Azamgarh and Jaunpur areas of Uttar Pradesh. National Highway Authority (NHAI) will build about 8 kilometer long bypass in Thekma. Rs 436 crore has been sanctioned for this. At the same time, Rs 217 crore has been approved to widen and strengthen the 44 kilometer road from Muhammadpur to Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Jaunpur.
Thekma bypass will provide relief from traffic jam
The proposed bypass will start from Saraimohan in Thekma and go up to Gosai Ki Bazaar and connect to NH-28. This will reduce the need for people from surrounding areas including Thekma and Bardah to pass through the city to reach the main road. Information has been given that the land acquisition and tender process for the project has been completed. Construction work is expected to start soon.
44 kilometer road will also be widened
There is a plan to widen and strengthen the road from Muhammadpur to Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Jaunpur. Under this, additional width of two meters will be increased on both sides of the road. This is expected to ease the movement of vehicles on the road and provide better facilities to the passengers.
Travelers and local people will benefit
Both projects can help in improving the traffic system in the area. Construction of the bypass is likely to reduce the vehicular pressure in the main markets, while widening of the road may make travel easier. However, people will be able to avail the benefits of these facilities only after the construction work is completed.
