Business Desk – Fevicol Price Hike: Fevicol manufacturing company Pidilite Industries has increased the prices of many of its products in October. The company has increased the price of Fevicol by Rs 5 per kg. The company has increased prices for the third time this year amid rising costs of raw materials.
Pidilite has increased the prices of products like Fevicol MR, SH, Marine and Probond by Rs 5 per kg. They are used in making wooden furniture, doors and cupboards.
Increase in prices may increase the costs of shopkeepers and artisans. However, the price received by customers may vary depending on the pack size and the retailer.
The company had made changes in prices earlier also in 2026. The prices were increased by Rs 10 per kg in May-June. There was a further increase of Rs 26 per kg in July, while a discount of Rs 10 per kg was given in August. Now the prices have been increased again in October.
Raw material prices jump by 50%
The main reason for the increase in the price of Fevicol is said to be the inflation of raw materials. According to information received from the market, the prices of some essential raw materials have increased by 40 to 50%. These also include vinyl acetate monomer (VAM), which is used in making adhesive products.
There is no comment from Pidilite yet on the latest decision to increase prices in October. Earlier, the company had said about 12% increase in the prices of its products during the June quarter. At that time, rising costs due to the conflict in the Middle East were cited as the reason.
Keep an eye on company’s costs and profits
The company faces the challenge of managing costs amid rising raw material inflation. Now it remains to be seen how much the increased prices help the company in recovering its costs and what impact it has on its profits in the coming quarters.
