CJP's 'Lehra Do Tiranga' march in Delhi today, police alert after Deepke's appeal; Section 163 imposed in Connaught Place

New Delhi: The stir has intensified in the capital Delhi on Friday, October 16, regarding the proposed 'Lehra Do Tiranga' yatra of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). CJP leader Abhijeet Deepke has appealed to the people to reach the Central Park of Connaught Place with the tricolor in their hands. At the same time, Delhi Police has become alert in view of the program. Along with strengthening the security arrangements, Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) has been implemented in Connaught Place and surrounding areas.

The administration has appealed to the people to maintain peace in the area and follow the instructions of the police. In view of the possibility of traffic being affected, the traffic police has also issued an advisory.

Central Park will remain closed for two days

New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has issued a notice to keep Central Park closed on October 16 and 17. According to Delhi Police, NDMC has informed about keeping the park closed citing administrative reasons. Also, a request has been made to ensure the security of the park and not allow anyone to enter without permission. An appeal has been made by CJP through social media and press conference to reach Central Park with the tricolor at 5 pm on Friday evening. Aam Aadmi Party has also supported this protest and asked its workers and supporters to join it.

Deepke accused of stalking

Before the yatra, CJP leader Deepke has alleged that policemen present in plain clothes are chasing him. However, no confirmed information has come from the police regarding this allegation. On the other hand, the police say that maintaining public order and preventing any untoward incident is its priority.

Security increased amid traders' concerns

Many business organizations of Connaught Place have also contacted the police and expressed fear of business being affected during the protests. Traders fear that in case of crowd or chaos, shops and business activities may be affected.

In this case, the issue of possible hindrance in business activities has also been raised in the Delhi High Court. The police have assured the court that necessary steps will be taken keeping in mind the concerns of the parties concerned.
