Imran Khan has received the notice from Mumbai Police. Imran had participated in the CJP demonstration at August Kranti Maidan on October 10, in which the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar was being demanded. Mumbai Police had detained him, FIR was registered against more than 400 people related to the protest. Being a part of political protests now seems to be taking a heavy toll on Imran Khan. Actually, Imran Khan does not have Indian citizenship, but American citizenship. He was born on 13 January 1983 in Wisconsin (Madison), USA and holds an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card along with a US passport.

    Kirit Somaiya had protested

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya has raised direct questions on Imran Khan regarding this matter. Somaiya claims that OCI card holders or any foreign national cannot take part in India's domestic political activities and demonstrations. He has demanded an impartial investigation and strict action from the police and immigration officials in this matter.

Just before being detained by the police, Imran Khan had clarified his stand and said that I have come here as a citizen, as a human being living in this city. I have come to see why people's freedom of movement is being restricted and why their voice is being suppressed.
