This entire incident happened on June 13. People passing through a busy street in West London saw a woman lying unconscious on the footpath and a small child nearby walking barefoot towards the road. The vehicles were passing very close and the child could have been hit by a speeding vehicle at any time. Sensing the urgency of the situation, passers-by immediately intervened, took the child safe in their lap and immediately informed the police. People tried to wake up the woman for about 30 minutes, but she was completely unconscious.
As soon as she regained consciousness she said— ‘This is not a slaughterhouse, why are you so worried?’
In court, government lawyer Rio Pahlawanpour told that when Mahrah Al Nahyan was brought to her senses after much effort, instead of expressing any regret for her mistake or the condition of the child, she started behaving strangely. Taking a dig at the helpful people gathered there, he reportedly said, “This is not a slaughterhouse… Why are you guys caring so much about my child? Why are you so worried?”

While giving clarification in the court, the lawyer said that on the particular day when this incident took place, Mehrah had not taken cocaine directly, but due to continuous heavy intoxication in the last few days, she was physically broken and due to extreme fatigue, she fainted on the road. The lawyer told the court that after being admitted to the rehab center since July, he has completely given up drug addiction and he is completely serious about ending his addiction.
Judge’s harsh comment: ‘Someone would have taken the child away or he would have become a victim of an accident’
While hearing the case, Justice Johnson KC strongly reprimanded Mahrah’s irresponsible attitude. The judge said, “Leaving your 3-year-old child unattended on a moving road in an inebriated condition shows how much you have disregarded his safety. If strangers had not come forward in time, the child could have been crushed by a vehicle, kidnapped by a stranger or he could have suffered serious harm. It cannot even be imagined how terrified that child must have been from within, seeing his mother unconscious like this.”
