Reliance big answer on competition with Starlink, said- We have never been afraid of competition

Debate over Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, Starlink’s entry into India has intensified. While Musk has raised questions about Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries and competition in the Indian market, Reliance has clarified that it is not afraid of competition from any company. The company has said that investment and new technologies are welcome in India, but all companies must comply with the country’s regulations.

Reliance Industries said in a statement on Friday that it welcomes competition in the satellite broadband sector, including from foreign companies such as Starlink. According to the company, India is a market where both domestic and foreign companies should have investment and innovation opportunities. However, Reliance also clarified that any company launching services in India must comply with the country’s laws and regulatory procedures. The company also cited the government’s stance that the same procedures should apply to Indian and foreign companies.

Reliance has raised an important point in its statement. Jio’s satellite services are also awaiting necessary approvals, the company said. This means that Jio also needs regulatory approval to launch satellite internet services in India. The statement comes at a time when talks between Reliance and Elon Musk have intensified over Starlink’s entry into the Indian market. Musk wants Starlink to have a chance to compete in India, while Reliance says the rules should be the same for all companies.

Reliance cites Jio’s journey as saying it is not afraid of competition. The company said that when Jio entered the telecom market in 2016, it did not have a single customer. However, the company won the trust of customers based on its services. According to Reliance, Jio today has more than 53 crore customers. The company has also played an important role in promoting cheap data and digital infrastructure in the country. Reliance said that we have never been afraid of competition. We consider it the biggest yardstick to see who provides good customer service.
