Let us tell you that Adani Logistics Limited (ALL) is part of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ). Under this partnership, electric trucks have been deployed for container delivery. According to the company, this is the country's largest electric truck fleet dedicated to container movement.
Electric container delivery started from Tumb depot
This initiative aims to increase the use of electric vehicles in the segment of container transport in which goods are transported by road from ports or container depots to customers' factories and warehouses. This model is called store-door delivery. In this the container is delivered directly from the depot to the customer's premises. This creates a direct contact between the container handling center and the delivery points involved in the supply chain.
The use of electric trucks is being considered an important step towards reducing the environmental impact of road freight transportation. Electric trucks do not emit pollutants directly from their exhaust while driving, as they do not have a tailpipe like conventional petrol or diesel engines. However, the extent to which this initiative will reduce total carbon emissions will also depend on the source of electricity used for charging.
