‘It Will Leave A Lasting Impact On Telugu Cinema’: Vijay Deverakonda On ‘Ranabaali’

Hyderabad: Vijay Deverakonda believes his upcoming film ‘Ranabaali’ will leave a lasting impression on Telugu cinema.

The actor has expressed confidence in the film, calling it one of the best Telugu releases of 2026 and a project that will remain significant in his career.

At the film’s success meet on Friday evening, Vijay thanked audiences for their support and the love they had shown the film.

He also spoke about the impact the project had on him after watching its final cut.

“Yesterday when I saw the film, I felt this will be one of the best films of Telugu cinema this year. I am so proud of this film as I have said earlier ahead of the release. If I have speak about my filmography, this is my 14th film… and I believe that Ranabaali will be one such film which will be important even when I do 25-30 films… that film and that performance that will leave an impact. This is one such film, I knew it yesterday,” he said.

Vijay also revealed that his mother became emotional while watching the film and had to be consoled. Recalling the experience, he said, “I watched the film thrice: twice during editing and once yesterday, when I saw the final cut with CGI and music. But when I watched the scenes yesterday, I was choking up, and my mom broke down sobbing as she sat behind me. I kept telling her, mummy, this is just a movie. But she kept sobbing loudly…we don’t usually cry like that in public. I had to ask Rushi to go sit with her for a while.”

Meanwhile, a Bengaluru court has granted interim relief against allegedly defamatory and false content about ‘Ranabaali’ on social media, shortly before the film’s release.

According to LiveLaw, the ex parte order restrains several platforms, including X, YouTube, Google India, BookMyShow, IMDb, Facebook and Meta, along with unidentified parties, from hosting or circulating such content.

Following the development, reviews and ratings for the film were disabled on BookMyShow.
