Roorkee, Read. Agniveer recruitment rally was organized in Roorkee for the youth who are dreaming of serving the country by joining the Indian Army. In this sequence, Additional Director General (ADG), Headquarters Recruiting Zone Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Major General Manish Kumar, YSM, SM inspected the recruitment rally going on at the Pavilion Ground of Bengal Engineer Group (BEG) End Center on 14 and 15 October. Taking stock of the arrangements related to recruitment, he reiterated the Indian Army's commitment towards a fair, transparent and merit-based selection process.
Youth from Garhwal region of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are participating in this recruitment rally organized from 05 October to 23 October 2026. The phase held on October 15 was attended by those Agniveer General Duty (GD) candidates from Chamoli district who had cleared the Common Entrance Exam (CEE) held this year.
Physical Test and Document Verification Check
During the inspection, Major General Manish Kumar saw the physical efficiency testing areas, biometric verification centers and digital document verification arrangements made at the recruitment site. While talking to the candidates, he appreciated their enthusiasm, courage and dedication towards serving the country.
Candidates should stay away from brokers and middlemen
The Major General gave a clear message to the candidates that they should not fall prey to any broker, agent or middleman in the recruitment process and should not give money to anyone. He said that the selection process is automated and equipped with digital security measures. No outsider can influence it.
He reiterated that the Indian Army is committed to conduct the entire recruitment process in a fair, transparent and merit-based manner in collaboration with the civil administration.
Appreciation of the efforts of the organizing team and civic administration
Seeing the recruitment rally being organized on a large scale, the ADG interacted with the organizing team and praised its dedication and efficiency. He also met the Commandant of BEG&Centre, civil administration officials and employees of education and medical departments.
During this, administrative coordination and logistics support for smooth conduct of the recruitment process was reviewed. The Major General appreciated the role of civil-military coordination in creating a safe, orderly and respectful environment for the thousands of youth participating in the rally.
