Electric pole broken by chariot in Bastar Dussehra, 20-25 devotees injured

Jagdalpur. These days, the operation of Phool Rath Parikrama Vidhan is going on in Bastar Dussehra. Last night at 8:45 pm, towards Meenabazar, where the chariot never comes, it reached the devotees by breaking an electric pole, due to which a major accident occurred due to the electric pole falling on the devotees standing on the side, in which about 20-25 devotees were injured.

The most attractive center of Bastar Dussehra is the operation of the giant chariot, to see which domestic and foreign tourists along with devotees reach Bastar.

But the lack of administrative control and the way the chariot pullers try to pull the chariot towards the crowd of devotees, domestic and foreign tourists standing to watch the chariot, indicates a major accident.

Last night at 8:45 pm, towards Meenabazar, where the chariot never comes, it reached the devotees by breaking an electric pole, due to which a major accident occurred due to the electric pole falling on the devotees standing on the side, in which about 20-25 devotees were injured.

It was by the grace of Mother Danteshwari that no one died in this accident. After this accident, it came to light that the villagers who pulled the chariot had gone out of administrative control and wanted to take the chariot of Bastar Dussehra to Meena Bazaar, but due to a major accident in between, they could not take the chariot to Meena Bazaar.

Under Bastar Dussehra, the Phool Rath Parikrama is to be conducted till 18th October. During this period, it would not be surprising if the villagers pulling the chariot went out of administrative control and reached Meena Bazaar during the Rath Parikrama in these two days.

The memorandum submitted to the Bastar Collector in protest against setting up Meena Bazaar in the Rajbada complex is being considered. Bastar Collector Akash Chhikara is well aware that the nearby residents and villagers had approached the Bastar Collector through an influential leader associated with the politics of the ruling party to prevent Meena Bazaar from being included in the Rajbada complex.

An influential leader of the ruling party had also informed the Collector in this regard. Despite this, sooner or later this Meenabazar of Karareda got administrative permission, allegedly under the pressure of a top public representative of the ruling party.

A section of the ruling party is in support of the ward residents and is against setting up Meena Bazaar in the Rajbada complex, while another section is a stakeholder in Meena Bazaar. Due to which the devotees had to bear the brunt last night.

In this regard, the officials of the electricity department said that the chariot is never brought to the place where the accident happened last night, that is why the electric line there was active, despite the pole breaking due to the collision of the chariot, the wire of the active line did not break and fall down, otherwise a big accident would have happened.
