Akshay Kumar Set For A Power-Packed Reunion With Priyadarshan

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar is set to reunite with filmmaker Priyadarshan for a comedy set in the 1970s.

The actor will reportedly play a quirky tiger hunter in the yet-untitled film, which will mark Priyadarshan’s 99th directorial venture.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani, the project is expected to go on floors in the last week of November.

“The film goes on the floors in the last week of November,” a source close to the development was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

According to the source, the three-month shooting schedule will span wildlife locations in Rajasthan and a set in Mumbai, while the team is also scouting locations in Bhopal.

Annu Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav have joined the ensemble cast, while the search for the female lead is still underway.

Priyadarshan and Rohan Shankar have penned the film. The duo previously collaborated on Bhooth Bangla.

When contacted, Priyadarshan remained tight-lipped about the project, saying, “Let the project get locked, then I will talk.”

The filmmaker had recently revealed that he intends to focus on Hindi comedies following the lukewarm response to Haiwaan.

“If that’s the demand, why should I experiment with other kinds of films? I will play for the gallery and try meaningful movies in the South,” he had said.
