Paris, Read: The entire country including the French capital Paris is in flames at this time. Protestors took to the streets across the country on Saturday in support of rising inflation and the ongoing student movement. This mobilization has taken place after the appeals going viral on social media, in which there is a demand to revive the famous 'Yellow Vests' movement of 2018 once again.
Blunt demands of students and laborers
For the last few weeks, French student organizations have been adamant in demanding improvements in the education structure and basic facilities. This spark, which was smoldering since mid-September, has now taken a bigger form. 'CGT', one of the most powerful labor unions in the country, has also openly announced to support the students. The Sangh has put forth a clear demand before the government that the life of the people has become difficult, hence the government should immediately increase the salaries and pensions, control the skyrocketing inflation and protect the public services that fulfill the basic needs of the common people.
Stir in administration, fear of violence
There are full chances of massive violence breaking out and law and order disturbance during the protest. Seeing the urgency of the situation, on Friday itself President Emmanuel Macron had issued a message to the country and appealed to the people for peace. He had appealed to the protesters not to cross the limits of the law and not to damage any kind of public or private property.
On the other hand, Home Minister Laurent Nunez, while revealing the security arrangements, said that according to intelligence input, hundreds of protest programs and more than 80 big marches are expected to be held across the country. The administration fears that the agitators may suddenly take to the streets and block the main roads and create blockade-like situations at many places. To deal with the situation, heavy police force has been deployed in all the big cities including Paris.
