Ajay Devgn: BMC action on Ajay Devgan's Juhu bungalow, bulldozer used on construction without permission

Ajay Devgn: Mumbai. Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken action against Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan's bungalow in Juhu. Due to the construction work being done inside the bungalow without permission, the Municipal Corporation has demolished some parts. It is being told that despite the issuance of notice to stop the construction work and submit the necessary documents, the work was going on. After this BMC took demolition action.

Construction work continued even after notice

According to the information, this bungalow of Ajay Devgan is in Kapol Co-operative Housing Society located in Juhu area of Mumbai. This property, spread over an area of about 7,802 square feet, was leased by the Devgan family to Florian Heurel Salon Pvt Ltd for five years in August 2026. For this, a lease agreement of Rs 10.61 crore was signed, while the initial monthly rent was fixed at Rs 16 lakh.

It is being told that there were preparations to use the bungalow for salon and commercial activities. For this, changes were being made in the walls, windows and other parts inside the premises. It is alleged that necessary approval was not taken from the Building Proposal Department of BMC for these works.

BMC had issued notice

The Municipal Corporation had issued a notice under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act and directed to stop the construction work and submit the necessary documents. The notice mentioned construction being carried out without permission. Despite this, after it came to light that the work was continuing, BMC demolished some parts of the bungalow.

The society had no objection to giving the bungalow on lease.

The role of Kapol Co-operative Housing Society has also come to light in this matter. According to the report, the Devgan family had sought a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the society to lease the bungalow to Florian Hurel Salon Pvt Ltd. In a letter dated July 22, 2026, the then authorized officer of the society had described Veena Virendra Devgan and Ajay Devgan as the members and legal owners of the property. Also, no objection was raised to giving the property on lease.

Questions raised on commercial use and changes

However, the society said that the NOC was for leasing the property. No explicit permission was given to convert it from residential to commercial use or to make any structural or service related changes. In such a situation, questions were raised on the legality of the construction work being done inside the bungalow.

At present, as per available information BMC has demolished some parts of the unauthorized construction. There is no confirmation of any official response from Ajay Devgan or the concerned company in the matter.
