'The enemy's enemy is your friend', freedom fighter Savarkar's vision regarding Israel.

Manjiri MarathaNo Israel Tour: Manjiri Marathi, treasurer of Swatantryaveer Savarkar National Memorial and advisory editor of 'Hindusthan Post', recently completed a study tour of Israel. While experiencing the military mood there during this visit, he took note of how the visionary ideas presented by Veer Savarkar regarding Israel have directly come true… (Part – 2)

Swatantryaveer Savarkar's far-sighted vision regarding Israel. While traveling in Israel, I especially remembered freedom fighter Savarkar while seeing groups of young men aged between 18 to 20 years dressed in military uniform. It was his dream to hear the sounds of the soldiers marching through the streets and roads of India, which he got to experience in our friendly nation Israel. His wish was that military training should be mandatory in schools and colleges, that is why he continuously supported militarization. We were dependents, the army was of the British but there were only Indian soldiers in it. Therefore, Hindus should join the army, take training from the enemy, take their own guns, but when the time comes, which direction to turn the barrel of the gun will be in our hands – this stubborn idea was on the thinking power of many people and is still there today, that is why they were called 'recruiters' of the British. Azad Hind Sena got soldiers due to Veer Savarkar's support of militarization, but it was because the number of Hindus in the army increased from 35 to 65 percent during the independence of the country that Hindustan survived after independence.

During his visit to Israel, Manjiri Marathi, Treasurer of the Swatantraveer Savarkar National Memorial and advisory editor of 'Hindustan Post', presented the statement given by Swatantraveer Savarkar in support of an independent Jewish nation in 1947 to Shimon Mercer Wood, a senior official of Israel's Foreign Ministry, as a gift.

Veer Savarkar was a visionary. Savarkar had supported the creation of an independent Jewish nation in his book titled 'Essentials of Hindutva', written 103 years ago when he was in Ratnagiri jail, and published in 1923. Savarkar writes, “If the wishes of the Jewish people come true and Palestine is created as a Jewish nation, we will be as happy as the Jewish people themselves.”

Expressing sympathy for the Jews coming to Europe to evict them, Savarka wrote in a circular issued in 1938, “Instead of bringing them to India to live, they should live in Palestine, because that is their fatherland (the land acquired by their ancestors) and the land of their death (the birthplace of religion).” When Israel was created, the majority of Jews chose to settle in Israel.

After the creation of Israel, in his 'historic statement' given on December 19, 1947, Savarkar wrote, “I was happy to read the news that the majority of the world's leading countries recognized the right of the Jews to establish an independent Jewish state in Palestine and also promised to provide arms and ammunition support for it. Our Indian newspapers are giving wrong information on this issue due to their pro-Muslim policy. The reality is that at least two years before the establishment of the Muslim religion, Thousands of years ago, many kings and sages considered that country as their fatherland. Before they invaded Sindh, they brutally destroyed the culture of the Jews, but their evil ambitions were not fulfilled. Our holy land is Arabstan, not Palestine!! Our current newspapers and leaders should understand this.

“This question of Indian state representatives in the United Nations (UN) opposing the creation of a Jewish state is painful. While talking about this, when Nehru said that we opposed the Jewish state to get the sympathy of the small Islamic countries of Asia, then his position became more untenable. Because, at this time, he did not consider how the Jews of India and the world and the powerful countries supporting them would feel. To get the sympathy of small, weak countries, big powers This policy of losing sympathy to the countries is unfair and ridiculous. At this time, they should have also kept in mind that all these Islamic groups demanding the creation of an Islamic state in India are supporting the Pakistani group which is trying to create a Muslim front from Africa to Malaysia.

“The task of resisting this aggressive Islamic power will be done by a strong and independent Jewish nation. There is no hatred in the minds of the Jewish people towards the Hindu community. There is no reason to be suspicious of the minority Jews in India. Whatever may be the policy of today's Congress leaders, but the Hindu organizational party of India should express its goodwill towards the independent Jewish nation by giving its full support to the independent Jewish nation in the form of moral and political policy as well.”

In 1956, in the Hindu Mahasabha convention at Jodhpur, Savarkare presented a very important idea regarding Israel. “India has recognized most of the nations of the world except Israel. If Israel is recognized, that act will be considered anti-Muslim, India is afraid. But if a war breaks out between India and Pakistan tomorrow, then most of the Muslim nations will stand against Pakistan and their enemy, Israel, will be their only friend. Therefore, India should give unconditional recognition to Israel.”

'The enemy of the enemy is our friend: Israel'. It is with these thoughts of Savarkar that today we have established friendly and commercial relations with Israel. It is important that even though the year 2017 has come when it came true, it has started.
