These centers operating in the state have become a ray of hope for those helpless and troubled women, who were silently suffering the brunt of violence, restrictions or exploitation within the walls of their homes. The story of three women from Lucknow is the biggest proof that if a hand is taken at the right time, any daughter can overcome difficulties and achieve her goal. These three have written the new chapter of their lives themselves.
Break the barriers and create a new path to success
The biggest crisis faced by a 31 year old girl from Lucknow was from her own home. She wanted to study further and dreamed of achieving great success by preparing for competitive exams, but her family members stood against her studies. The daily taunts and restrictions had completely broken him, but he did not lose courage. He sent an email to the One Stop Center and explained his entire problem. Understanding the matter, the Centre's team did not waste any time and reached his house directly.
The officials made the family members sit and talked to them with great love and understanding. The girl and her family were counseled while maintaining complete confidentiality. The team explained to the family members that it was wrong to stop the daughter. The impact of the counseling was such that the thinking of the family changed completely and they allowed the daughter to study further. After getting encouragement, the girl completed her preparation and today she is working on a big post.
Escape from the clutches of exploitation and make a name for yourself in the hotel
The second story is of a girl who was exploited by her own people since childhood. When she turned 16, she gathered courage and went to the door of the One Stop Center and narrated her story. As soon as he reached there, he was given full assurance of safety. The team of the center immediately started legal action so that the girl could get justice. On the orders of the Child Welfare Committee, he was kept safe under government protection and his studies continued.
He completed his 12th studies, after which preparations started to make him self-reliant. With the help of the centre, he was given training in hotel management in a famous institute of Bengaluru. This girl, who came out of difficult situations and learned skills, is today doing a good job in a big and prestigious hotel in Lucknow. Today she is living her life with respect.
Coming out of her husband's prison and creating her own world
The married life of another 31 year old woman from Lucknow had become hell. Her husband kept her hostage at home and subjected her to physical, mental and financial torture. The woman's life had become completely helpless, but somehow this matter reached the One Stop Centre. After this, the team raided the spot along with the police and rescued the woman safely from captivity.
The woman was given temporary shelter for 12 days at the centre, where she was given complete care and her fears were removed through counselling. The team provided legal help and got all his belongings returned and took him safely to his parents' home. Now the woman is completely independent and is pursuing her studies and supporting herself by doing a good job.
Centers become strong shield for women in the entire state
According to C. Indumati, Director of Women Welfare Department, this scheme is proving to be a boon for the suffering women across the state. A total of 124 centers are working actively in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Through these centres, around 318500 cases of victimized women and girls have been helped so far.
The most special thing about these centers is that here the victimized woman gets accommodation, medical facilities, legal aid, police help and mental support at one place. They do not have to visit different offices. This help received at the right time has today given thousands of daughters of the state the courage to come out of the environment of fear and become self-reliant.
