Lung Tam Village, Tuyen Quang Province
According to the report, 28% of Vietnamese travelers have joined tours or activities to learn about local culture and interact with residents.
Lung Tam Village is one such destination. Linen weaving is part of the H’Mong people’s daily and spiritual life. Each product goes through 41 steps, from weaving and indigo dyeing to painting patterns with beeswax.
Starting with 10 members, the Lung Tam Linen Weaving Cooperative now provides jobs for more than 100 locals, mostly women. Tourism helps bring the products to more visitors, brings an extra income, and helps preserve the craft.
