Speaking to news agency IANS, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said, “If Uddhav Thackeray wants change, he can try it in the upcoming elections in 2029. It is not just in his hands but in the hands of the public. Crores of people vote and use their franchise to elect the government. This is not Bangladesh, Nepal or Sri Lanka. Our country is run according to the Constitution of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.”
Through his statement, Athawale stressed the importance of the democratic process and elections. He clarified that the way to change power in the country is through elections and the final decision is taken by the voters only. The government in India is formed according to the public votes and the provisions of the Constitution.
At the same time, Ramdas Athawale also reacted when Trinamool Congress (TMC) raised questions on the administration and puja committee regarding the stampede at the Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata. He accused the opposition of politicizing the incidents and said it was not fair to blame the NDA government coming to power at the Center for any accident.
Athawale said, “I feel that nowadays the opposition politicizes every issue. As far as the stampede is concerned, alleging that this incident happened in West Bengal because our NDA government came to power is not at all fair.”
The Union Minister said that instead of linking any accident with political allegations, attention should be paid to its real causes. It is important to understand the facts before holding the government responsible for the accident. The way TMC leaders are making allegations in West Bengal is not right, even before this accidents had happened, at that time no one used to say anything.
