Patna. The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has taken important initiatives to make land records accurate and systematic in Bihar. In many online Jamabandhis in the state, information related to account number, khesra number and land area is incomplete or incorrect. Now to remove such errors, the process of correction will be adopted by matching old government documents. This is expected to provide relief to those land owners who face problems due to irregularities in records.
1. Correction will be done if account number is not available
If the account number is not entered in the online Jamabandi, first of all the scanned copy of the original Jamabandi register will be checked. If information is not found in that also, then matching will be done with Khatian. In case the account number is missing in the jamabandi formed after filing, the help of related case register and other available documents will be taken. Even after this, if the information is not received, the land owner can be contacted and proof related to his rights can be sought.
2. Khesra number problem will be resolved
Arrangements have been made to correct the records even in those Jamabandhis where khesra or plot number is not recorded. For this, the original Jamabandi register, Khatian and documents related to filing-dismissal will be matched. If the correct Khesra number is not confirmed by government records, documents related to ownership and rights of the land can be collected from the concerned ryot.
3. The error in land area will also be corrected
In many cases, the total area of the land is not recorded in the online Jamabandi or its information is not clear. In such cases, correction will be made on the basis of Khesrawar area and other revenue records recorded in the old register. The aim of the department is to ensure that the correct area is recorded in the land records, so that in future there is no unnecessary trouble during land related work.
4. Measurement and testing of land if necessary
If some part of a land has already been removed from Jamabandi, but it is not clear from which Khesra the reduction has taken place, the matter will be investigated. For this, physical verification can be done along with taking information from the land owner. If needed, there will also be a measurement of the land, which will help in entering correct details in the records.
Land owners should keep their documents ready
In case of any discrepancy in the Jamabandi, old land related documents, Khatian and documents of filing-dismissal can be useful for the land owners. If the details of the land are not clear from the available government records, the department can ask for proof of its rights from the concerned ryot.
However, due to lack of account number in Municipal Survey Khatian, some jamabandi have not been considered necessary for improvement. At the same time, the department will issue separate instructions for the cases related to filing and rejection done without account number by mistake. Circle officers have been asked to identify such cases.
