Health Desk. Type-2 diabetes is one of the rapidly growing health problems today. In this disease, the body is not able to use insulin properly, due to which the sugar level in the blood starts increasing. The biggest problem is that many people do not feel its obvious symptoms in the initial stages. In such a situation, it is very important to recognize the changes occurring in the body and get them checked on time.
1. Feeling thirsty again and again
If you feel more thirsty than usual and feel the need to drink water frequently, do not ignore it. This can happen when blood sugar increases.
2. Frequent urination
Getting up several times at night to urinate or frequent urination throughout the day can also be a possible sign of type-2 diabetes. However, there may be other reasons also.
3. Feeling very tired
Feeling constantly tired, weak, or lacking in energy despite getting enough sleep may also be associated with high blood sugar.
4. Lose weight without effort
If you start losing weight without making any significant changes in your diet or exercise, then the reason behind it should be investigated. Unwanted weight loss can be a sign of many health problems.
5. Blurred vision
If sometimes your vision starts getting blurred or things are not visible clearly, do not dismiss it as mere eye fatigue. Changes in blood sugar can affect vision.
Why is it important to get tested on time?
Having any one of these symptoms does not mean that you have diabetes. But if the symptoms persist or several signs appear simultaneously, then consult a doctor and get your blood sugar checked. The doctor may recommend fasting blood glucose and HbA1c test as needed.
