New Delhi. With the aim of making Mother Yamuna clean and pure, under the 'Chalo Yamuna Abhiyan' being run in Delhi, a cleanliness campaign was organized at 70 Yamuna Ghats of the capital including Hathi Ghat located at ITO.
Thousands of Delhiites participated in this campaign and gave the message of converting their faith towards Mother Yamuna into resolve for service and environmental protection. On this occasion, under the leadership of Chandrapal Bairwa, Delhi State Minister, Scheduled Caste Morcha, BJP and Madangir Mandal President Dilip Devatwal, a large number of workers and local citizens from Madangir Mandal participated in the campaign. Everyone expressed their commitment towards the cleanliness of Yamuna and underlined the importance of clean environment and public participation.
The aim of 'Chalo Yamuna Abhiyan', being run under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is to make citizens aware and encourage collective participation to keep the Yamuna River and its ghats clean. The simultaneous cleanliness efforts at various ghats of the capital gave the message that conservation of rivers is not only the responsibility of the administration but also the moral and social duty of every citizen. Through the campaign, people were appealed not to throw plastic, puja material and other garbage on the ghats and banks of Yamuna. Also maintain the cleanliness of the ghats and make the people around you aware about cleanliness. The participation of Madangir Mandal under the leadership of Chandrapal Bairwa and Dilip Devtwal gave the message of awareness towards social responsibility and environmental protection. Such collective efforts strengthen the sense of responsibility towards cleanliness among the citizens.
Cleanliness of Mother Yamuna is an important topic related to our faith, culture and environment. Let us all strengthen our resolve to make Yamuna clean and pure by becoming 'Yamuna Prahari' and make cleanliness a part of our daily life instead of limiting it to just campaigns.
