IND vs NZ : Former cricketer and coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri has given a big statement before the Indian cricket team's tour of New Zealand. While talking to Times of India, he has spoken a lot about everyone from Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Jasprit Bumrah. Along with this, he has also given a big statement regarding Team India's adjustment to the conditions in New Zealand. Shastri has also told about the equation of Team India to reach the final of the World Test Championship i.e. WTC. Let us know in detail about what he has said.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar should play in every format – Shastri
Talking about Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Shastri said, 'There is no substitute for experience. When you have a bowler of Bhuvneshwar's quality and experience, it is not a difficult task. He has done enough with both the red and white balls to be recalled to the Test and ODI teams.
Jasprit Bumrah should not be played in every format – Shastri
Talking about Jasprit Bumrah, Ravi Shastri said, 'I don't think he should play all three formats till the World Cup. He should mainly focus on Test cricket and play ODI and T20 occasionally. I would like to save him for the two Test matches to be held in New Zealand, where he will be very important.
New Zealand tour will help in World Cup preparation – Shastri
Ravi Shastri said on Team India's tour of New Zealand, 'The entire tour is necessary. This will clearly show where Indian cricket is headed. The conditions there may also look somewhat similar to what India will face in South Africa during the World Cup. The conditions in New Zealand will be a tough test for India's batting.
It will be difficult for Team India to reach the final – Shastri
Ravi Shastri said, 'It is a difficult task for India to qualify for the WTC final. They will probably have to win about 90 percent of their remaining matches, which includes both Tests in New Zealand and at least 4 out of 5 matches against Australia. It is not impossible, but a lot depends on other results also.
