Suns, Ishbia promises: “We’ll win a Playoff series”

Speaking on CNBC SportPhoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia set two very specific goals and expressed confidence in the group after its 4-0 elimination against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the most recent Playoffs.

That is no small goal, considering Phoenix has not won a postseason game since 2023. Since then came the sweep by Minnesota in 2024, missing the Playoffs in 2025 and another winless elimination against OKC the following spring.

The summer moves confirmed the team’s desire to compete, with Miles Bridges arriving from Charlotte and the additions of Luke Kennard and rookie Koa Pea. With the third-highest payroll in the NBA and no unprotected first-round pick or swap rights available until 2032, however, the Suns have no choice: they have to aim to win.
