2 New Car Brands Launching In The Next 2 Months

The Indian automotive market will soon be welcoming not one but two new car brands in the coming months. The first will be BYD-owned Denza, and the second will be JSW Motors, owned by JSW Group. Both of these carmakers are getting ready to enter the market with a range of premium SUVs, electric vehicles and hybrid models. So, without any delay, here are the details of the upcoming models from these two new car brands.

The first brand on this list is BYD-owned Denza, which is expected to enter India around mid-November 2026 with the D9 luxury MPV. The company has already teased the model on its Indian social media channels, which means that its launch is not too far away. The India-spec version is expected to be offered with an all-electric powertrain and could be priced between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 85 lakh, ex-showroom.

In terms of design, the D9 gets a large front grille with chrome detailing, split LED headlamps, sliding rear doors and connected LED tail lamps. The cabin is expected to get a brown theme with a layered dashboard, ambient lighting and soft-touch materials. It will come with a seven-seat layout, featuring lounge-like captain seats in the second row with powered adjustment, ventilation, heating and massage functions.

Other expected features include a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a head-up display, a panoramic glass roof, three-zone climate control and a 14-speaker Dynaudio sound system. The global-spec model gets a 103 kWh battery, with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. However, the India-spec powertrain has not been confirmed yet. Once launched, the D9 will compete with the MG M9 and could also attract buyers considering the Toyota Vellfire.

The second model expected from Denza is the Z9 GT. It is a high-performance electric shooting brake that is expected to make its debut in India by the end of 2026. Unlike the D9, which focuses on luxury and passenger comfort, the Z9 GT will focus on mind-bending performance and technology. It is expected to be imported as a completely built-up unit and could be priced between Rs 1.2 crore and Rs 1.5 crore.

The Z9 GT is expected to get a tri-motor electric powertrain and will make 1,156 bhp. It can reportedly accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.7 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 270 kmph. The international version gets a 122.5 kWh battery pack with a claimed WLTP range of around 600 km.

What is interesting is that the Z9 GT also gets advanced chassis technology, including rear-wheel steering and a crab-walk function that can help in manoeuvring in tight spaces. The cabin is expected to feature multiple screens, premium upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, massage functions and advanced driver assistance systems.

The next brand on the list is JSW Motors, which will officially unveil its first model, the Jetour T2 plug-in hybrid-based Combat. It will be unveiled on December 4. The Combat PHEV will be assembled at the company’s facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, and is expected to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 50 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Combat will get a boxy design with a rugged front bumper, chunky wheel-arch cladding, 20-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and vertically positioned LED tail lamps. The India-spec model is expected to get revised headlights and bumpers, along with JSW branding.

Mechanically, the SUV is expected to use a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with an 18.4 kWh battery and two electric motors. The plug-in hybrid system is claimed to produce 360 bhp and 610 Nm of torque. It will also offer an electric-only range of 90 km and a combined range of up to 1,100 km. Expected features include a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, powered front seats, a 540-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS.

Next up in the lineup from JSW Motors is the J5 EV, which the company is currently testing. It is expected to make its debut in India in 2027. The company has not yet confirmed its final name, price or powertrain specifications. The SUV will be a five-seater and is expected to compete in the mid-size electric SUV segment.

The international Jaecoo J5 EV measures 4,380 mm in length and gets an upright design with slim tail lamps and a relatively conventional SUV profile. Internationally, it gets a 58.9 kWh LFP battery pack that makes 211 bhp and 288 Nm of torque. It has a claimed WLTP range of 402 km and supports DC fast charging at up to 130 kW.

However, it has to be mentioned that these specifications are for the international model and could differ for India. The international version also gets a 13.2-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, a glass roof and a powered tailgate. The India-spec features will be announced later.

Apart from the electric version, JSW Motors is also testing a hybrid version of the Jaecoo J5 in India. The SUV is expected to be launched around the end of 2026 or in early 2027. The international J5 Hybrid uses a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery.

The combined power from this setup will be around 224 bhp and 295 Nm of torque, and the power will be sent to the front wheels through a dedicated hybrid transmission. The SUV could accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds and offer a fuel efficiency of around 18.9 kmpl.

The cabin is expected to feature a 13.2-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and wireless charging. The final India-spec features and powertrain details will be announced around the launch.

chery icaur v23 electric suv

The iCar V23 EV is another of the most highly anticipated models coming from JSW Motors. This electric SUV is expected to be launched under the JSW Motors brand in 2027. The V23 EV will boast a rugged-looking, boxy design with circular LED headlamps, a chunky bumper and a panoramic sunroof.

On the inside, the V23 is expected to get a minimalist dashboard with a large 15.4-inch touchscreen and physical rotary controls. The international model is available with 59.93 kWh and 81.76 kWh battery packs, with a claimed range of around 360 to 430 km. Reports suggest that the India-spec version could be offered with both two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The SUV could be priced at around Rs 20 lakh.
