New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday paid tributes to the brave police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day.

He said it is an occasion to express the deepest gratitude to the country’s police personnel, who serve with remarkable commitment in challenging circumstances.

PM Modi also said that from maintaining law and order to combating crime, responding to emergencies and ensuring the safety of citizens, police personnel’s contribution is invaluable.

“Police Commemoration Day is an occasion to express our deepest gratitude to our police personnel, who serve with remarkable commitment, often in the most challenging circumstances,” he said in a post on X.

While paying solemn tributes to the brave police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, the prime minister said their courage, unwavering dedication and supreme sacrifice will forever remain etched in the nation’s memory.

The National Police Commemoration Day is observed in memory of 10 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who were killed on this day in 1959 in an ambush by Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Hot Spring area.
