Ahmedabad, 20 October 2026: Bangladesh’s Md Siddikur Rahman shot a three-under 69 to take the first-round lead at the Final Qualifying Stage of the DP World PGTI Qualifying School 2026-27 at the Kensville Golf & Country Club in Ahmedabad.
Four Indians share second place on 70: Arindam Sudan, Chetan Baisoya, Sumit Kotwal and amateur Arin Ahuja.
New putter pays off
The 41-year-old, a seven-time winner on the DP World PGTI with several international titles, made five birdies and two bogeys.
“It was all about my putting today as that was the best aspect of my game,” Siddikur said. “I recently changed my putter and the new putter did the job for me today. I also made a great up and down from the rough for birdie on the ninth, my finishing hole today.”
He said he was glad to be back on the tour where his professional career began. “I started my career on the DP World PGTI and have great memories of playing in India. I’m now excited about returning to the DP World PGTI after a long gap. This is now a very lucrative tour and offers great opportunities for professionals from India as well as from overseas like myself.”
What is at stake
There are 123 golfers in the field. The top 80 and ties will make the cut after the second round. After four rounds, the top 48 will earn full cards for the 2026-27 DP World PGTI season.
The Q-School comes days after Saptak Talwar was crowned the 2026 Order of Merit champion. The tour has also announced it will fund overseas Q-School costs for its top 30 Indian golfers.
