Amit Shah's taunt on Rahul Gandhi – 'Your number will not be counted in the next 30 years', also surrounded on Yamuna cleaning

Union Home Minister Amit Shah targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the foundation stone laying ceremony of projects related to cleaning of Yamuna in Delhi. He sarcastically said that Rahul Gandhi should return to Delhi and listen to him, because his number will not be counted for the next 30 years. Shah also mentioned Rahul being abroad and said that where he lives is his personal life.

Amit Shah said that problems are not solved merely by protesting. Public representatives should work for the people who have elected them. He claimed that from booth level workers of Bharatiya Janata Party to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, crores of party workers live among the people and try to understand and solve their problems.

Target on Congress regarding cleaning of Yamuna

Shah raised questions on Congress by raising the issue of cleaning Yamuna. He said that the Congress government remained in power for a long time, but not enough work was done to clean the Yamuna. The Home Minister claimed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP will get an opportunity to clean Yamuna from Yamunotri to Sangam in Prayagraj.

He also targeted Rahul Gandhi for accusing him of vote theft. Shah alleged that Congress raises such issues to protect infiltrators. Referring to the electoral situation of Congress in West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and Delhi, he advised the party to introspect.

43 projects worth Rs 8,941 crore in Delhi

During the programme, 43 water and sewage projects of Delhi Jal Board totaling more than Rs 8,941 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones were laid. These include inauguration of 10 projects and laying of foundation stone of 33 projects. The aim of these schemes is to improve sewage management, expand the sewer network and strengthen the system to stop the flow of dirty water into Yamuna.

Major schemes include a new sewage treatment plant at Okhla, increasing the capacity of existing plants, building new sewage treatment plants and pumping stations in outer Delhi and expanding the sewer network. The government aims to collect and treat sewage to prevent untreated waste water from entering the river.

Amit Shah also mentioned the politics of Punjab in his address and claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will be formed in the upcoming elections in the state. He also stated the target of eliminating drug trade from Punjab by the year 2029.

Amidst the political rhetoric, the real impact of the projects related to cleaning of Yamuna will depend on their timely completion, connecting houses and settlements to the sewage network and effective operation of the plants.
