Axor, the brand of premium riding gear manufacturing company Vega Auto, has launched its new full-face helmet in the Indian market. Axor Agera Has been launched. Presented with racing-inspired design, aerodynamic engineering and safety features, this helmet has been specially designed keeping in mind those who like sports bikes and high-speed riding.
The biggest feature of this helmet is its integrated rear spoiler, which has been designed to better control the air flow and reduce the pressure generated around the helmet at high speeds. According to the company, this can help in improving stability and comfort while riding. The starting ex-showroom price of Axor Agera has been kept at Rs 9,251. The company is preparing to make it available in the Indian market as well as international markets.
Special aerodynamic design for high-speed riding
Axor Agera has been designed for those bikers who want better aerodynamics along with a sporty look in their helmet. Its shell design is inspired by racing helmets and the spoiler at the rear gives it an aggressive look. Wind pressure at high speeds can put additional stress on the rider's head and neck. In such a situation, the shape of the helmet and its ability to control the flow of air become important. The rear spoiler on the Agera has been designed for this purpose. According to Uttam Chandak, Joint Managing Director and Head of Research and Development, Axor, air management plays an important role in providing a better experience in high-speed riding. The shell profile of the helmet is designed with the aim of reducing wind resistance.
Advanced visor and better visibility
Many features have been provided in the helmet to improve visibility. It comes with an optically correct, scratch-resistant and UV-protected external REVO visor. It has been designed keeping in mind clear visibility and eye protection in bright sunlight. Apart from this, the helmet has a quick-release visor mechanism. With its help the visor can be changed without any tools. It also has an integrated smoke sun visor on the inside for use in sudden bright sunlight. This helmet comes with Pinlock-ready anti-fog support to deal with the problem of steam accumulation on the visor in mist and fog. However, it is important to check the availability of Pinlock inserts and the package contents before purchasing.
Safety features like Double D-Ring and EQRS
Axor Agera has a double D-Ring fastening system to fasten the helmet firmly on the head. This type of strap system is used in sports and racing helmets. It is important to tie it properly, so that the helmet remains in place during an accident. It is also provided with Emergency Quick Release System (EQRS). In case of an accident, trained emergency responders can use this system to remove the cheek pads of the helmet, making the process of removing the helmet easier if necessary.
However, having EQRS does not mean that the helmet can be taken off without caution in every situation. If a neck or spine injury is suspected after a crash, it is important to wait for trained medical attention unless immediate danger requires helmet removal.
Will be sold in global market along with India
Axor Agera is seen as an extension of the company's performance-oriented helmet portfolio. The company plans to make it available in international markets besides India. For riders using sports bikes and premium motorcycles, the focus has been on racing-style design, visor-related features and safety. However, the actual safety of any helmet depends on its design as well as certification, proper fitting and method of use.
