Chennai: Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 has crossed Rs 600 crore in worldwide gross collections within nine days of its theatrical release, strengthening its position as one of the major box office performers of the season. The Tamil action-comedy has continued to attract audiences in India and overseas, although its domestic collections have declined in recent days.
According to Sacnilk estimates, the film collected Rs 17.15 crore net in India on Day 8, registering a 39.1% drop compared with its previous day’s earnings. Despite the slowdown, its cumulative India net collection reached Rs 334.35 crore, while its India gross collection stood at Rs 391.55 crore.
Overseas markets have continued to contribute significantly to the film’s earnings. The movie added an estimated Rs 5 crore from international markets on Day 8, taking its overseas gross to Rs 214.50 crore. Its worldwide gross collection consequently reached Rs 606.05 crore.
The film’s overall occupancy on Day 8 was reported at 25.2% across 13,241 shows. While the domestic market has shown signs of moderation after a strong opening week, the overseas performance has helped sustain its worldwide total.
Jailer 2 Day 8 box office collection
Jailer 2 earned Rs 17.15 crore net in India on its eighth day in theatres. The collection represented a 39.1% decline from the previous day, indicating a slowdown in domestic audience turnout.
The film’s India net total has reached Rs 334.35 crore, while its India gross earnings stand at Rs 391.55 crore. With overseas gross collections estimated at Rs 214.50 crore, the worldwide total has climbed to Rs 606.05 crore.
The Tamil version led the Day 8 collections, contributing Rs 10.75 crore. The Telugu version followed with Rs 3.60 crore, while the Hindi version earned Rs 2.40 crore. The Kannada version added Rs 40 lakh.
These figures underline the Tamil version’s leading contribution to the film’s domestic earnings. However, the collections across Telugu, Hindi and Kannada also demonstrate the film’s reach beyond its primary-language audience.
The reported occupancy of 25.2% provides an indication of audience attendance across the day’s shows. Box office estimates can change as more data becomes available, and the final figures may differ from the early reported totals.
Day-wise box office collection
The film began its theatrical run with a strong opening, collecting Rs 59.70 crore on Day 1. It earned Rs 37.10 crore on Day 2 and Rs 47.25 crore on Day 3, maintaining substantial collections during its opening weekend.
The momentum continued into the following days. The film collected Rs 55.85 crore on Day 4, followed by Rs 42.35 crore on Day 5 and Rs 46.80 crore on Day 6.
However, earnings began to moderate towards the end of the first week. The film collected Rs 28.15 crore on Day 7 before dropping further to Rs 17.15 crore on Day 8.
The reported day-wise India net collections are as follows:
- Day 1: Rs 59.70 crore
- Day 2: Rs 37.10 crore
- Day 3: Rs 47.25 crore
- Day 4: Rs 55.85 crore
- Day 5: Rs 42.35 crore
- Day 6: Rs 46.80 crore
- Day 7: Rs 28.15 crore
- Day 8: Rs 17.15 crore
The cumulative India net collection after eight days stands at Rs 334.35 crore, according to the figures provided. The film’s strong opening and sustained earnings during its first six days helped establish a substantial domestic total before the recent decline.
The next few days will be important in determining how well the film holds its audience through the second weekend. Weekend collections could provide a boost, although the scale of any recovery will depend on audience demand, show availability and competition from other releases.
Tamil Nadu leads state-wise collections
Tamil Nadu remained the largest contributor to Jailer 2‘s reported state-wise gross earnings on Day 8, generating Rs 7.50 crore.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 4 crore, while Karnataka added Rs 3.65 crore. Kerala recorded Rs 2.20 crore, and other regions collectively contributed Rs 2.75 crore.
The reported state-wise gross figures were:
- Tamil Nadu: Rs 7.50 crore
- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana: Rs 4 crore
- Karnataka: Rs 3.65 crore
- Kerala: Rs 2.20 crore
- Other regions: Rs 2.75 crore
The combined total of these figures is Rs 20.10 crore. This state-wise gross figure should be distinguished from the reported India net collection of Rs 17.15 crore for Day 8, as gross and net collections are calculated differently and the estimates may use different reporting methods.
Tamil Nadu’s leading contribution reflects the film’s strong base in Rajinikanth’s home market. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala have also contributed to its domestic performance, while dubbed versions have helped the film reach audiences across multiple language markets.
Overseas markets drive worldwide success
International markets have played an important role in Jailer 2‘s box office performance. The film reportedly earned around $22.24 million overseas during its first week, equivalent to approximately Rs 209–210 crore at the exchange-rate estimate cited in the figures.
The Middle East was the biggest contributor, generating $7.10 million. North America followed with $5.90 million, while Malaysia contributed $2.74 million.
The United Kingdom and Ireland together accounted for $1.86 million, while Europe contributed $1.36 million. Other international territories added another $3.28 million.
In Australia, the film collected approximately A$1.69 million, while New Zealand contributed NZ$223,408.
According to the estimates cited, overseas collections could eventually reach $25–30 million if the film maintains its performance. This remains a projection rather than a confirmed final total and will depend on the film’s continuing theatrical run in international markets.
The film has also reportedly surpassed the lifetime overseas collections of Vijay’s Leo and Rajinikanth’s original Jailer. If the reported comparisons are confirmed, the achievement would place Jailer 2 among the leading Tamil-language releases in international markets.
The overseas contribution has been particularly important as domestic daily earnings have declined. Its worldwide total of Rs 606.05 crore demonstrates how international markets can significantly influence the overall performance of a major Indian release.

Jailer 2 crosses Rs 600 crore worldwide
Jailer 2 has crossed the Rs 600 crore worldwide gross mark in nine days, supported by its strong opening and substantial overseas earnings. Its reported worldwide collection has reached Rs 606.05 crore, while the India net total stands at Rs 334.35 crore.
The 39.1% decline in Day 8 domestic collections indicates that the film is facing a slowdown after its initial run. However, international markets have continued to contribute to its overall total.
The upcoming weekend will be crucial in assessing the film’s ability to sustain its box office momentum. Its final theatrical earnings will depend on how well it holds audiences in India and overseas during the coming days.
