Case filed against SP spokesperson Bhati on Sanatan Dharma comment, demand for dismissal!

The controversy related to Samajwadi Party's national spokesperson Rajkumar Bhati regarding Sanatan Dharma and Hindu Gods and Goddesses is continuously deepening. A case has been registered against Rajkumar Bhati in Dadri police station on the complaint of Bharatiya Janata Party leader and founder president of Gau Raksha Hindu Dal, Ved Nagar.

The complainant has alleged that Bhati repeated objectionable vows related to Hindu deities and beliefs of Sanatan Dharma during a public program organized in Delhi, which has hurt the religious sentiments of people believing in Sanatan Dharma.

After the case was registered, Ved Nagar has demanded from SP National President Akhilesh Yadav to immediately remove Rajkumar Bhati from the post of spokesperson. On October 24, Dadri police station has registered a case under sections 352, 353 (2) and 356 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) based on the complaint of Ved Nagar.

According to the Inspector in-charge of the police station, after receiving the complaint, a case has been registered and investigation has been started. The police will now investigate the allegations made in the complaint and the facts related to them. Ved Nagar alleges that Rajkumar Bhati had attended a public event organized in Delhi, where vows were repeated in relation to Hindu deities, Lord Shri Ram, Lord Shri Krishna and beliefs related to Sanatan Dharma.

The complainant says that this incident has hurt people having religious beliefs. He has described this as not just a matter of political rhetoric, but a matter related to religious sentiments and social respect. This whole matter started on October 20 after a program organized by the Indian Buddhist Mahasabha at Ambedkar Bhawan, Rani Jhansi Road, Delhi.

Rajkumar Bhati attended the program as the chief guest. During this time, a video related to the 22 pledges of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar surfaced, in which scenes of him taking oath regarding the worship of Hindu deities and the beliefs related to them were seen.

After the video circulated on social media, debate started at political and social levels. As the controversy escalated, Rajkumar Bhati also presented his side.

Rejecting speculations that he would leave Hinduism or convert to Buddhism, he had said that he is a Hindu and has no intention of converting. Expressing respect for the teachings of Gautam Buddha and the thoughts of Dr. Ambedkar, he talked about respecting all religions and communities.

Ved Nagar has demanded from Akhilesh Yadav that Rajkumar Bhati should be immediately removed from the post of party spokesperson. He says that leaders holding responsible positions of political parties should keep religious beliefs and social sensitivity in mind while making statements in public forums.

He also said that if Rajkumar Bhati is called to discuss this issue in the debate of TV channels, he will register his protest in a democratic manner.
