Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has revealed that she gained weight during a period when filmmaker Karan Johar was not speaking to her. The unexpected admission came in the teaser for the upcoming episode of ‘Koffee with Karan’ Season 9, which will feature Janhvi alongside actor Varun Dhawan.
The teaser, released on Saturday, offers a glimpse into the third episode of the popular celebrity chat show. While the two actors are seen sharing several light-hearted moments with the host, the conversation takes a personal turn when they reveal that Karan had stopped communicating with both of them.
Addressing the fallout, Karan admitted, “I was hurt with both of you.”
Janhvi then made a surprising confession about how the situation had affected her, saying, “I gained weight when we stopped talking.”
Although the teaser does not reveal what caused the disagreement, the trio’s playful exchanges suggest that they have since resolved their differences.
Varun Dhawan compares Karan Johar to Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘K3G’ character
Varun, meanwhile, did not miss the opportunity to tease Karan about his reaction during their disagreement.
Calling out the filmmaker for being overly dramatic, the actor said, “Karan, you said very dramatic shit. You became Bachchan from K3G: ‘Mein bada hoon, haq hai mera.'”
His remark was a reference to Amitabh Bachchan’s character in Karan’s family drama ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, popularly known as ‘K3G’.
While the exchange hinted at a disagreement between the filmmaker and the two actors, neither Janhvi nor Varun disclosed what had led to the communication breakdown.
Arjun Kapoor makes a special appearance
The upcoming episode will also feature a surprise appearance by actor Arjun Kapoor, who joins Janhvi and Varun for the show’s popular rapid-fire round.
During the segment, Karan asks Varun whom he would approach for career and marriage advice. Without hesitation, the actor names Arjun for both.
Janhvi also adds to the entertainment when Karan asks her to name an Instagram account that is consistently ‘giving’. She picks actor-politician Ravi Kishan before recreating his viral punchline, ‘Money follows my brother!’. Arjun joins his sister in imitating the popular line.
The teaser suggests that the episode will bring together candid revelations, friendly teasing and humorous exchanges among the guests.
