Patna. After being expelled from Janata Dal United (JDU) for six years, Mokama MLA Anant Singh has given a big statement regarding his political future. He clearly said that instead of joining any other party, he will form his own party. Despite expressing his displeasure over the eviction action, he said that he has no regrets over it.
'Now we will form our own party'
While talking to journalists, Anant Singh said that he will not go to any party to ask for tickets. According to him, earlier the party itself had called him and given him the ticket. Now he will move towards forming his own party.
Questioning the future of JDU, he said that the party has been identified with Nitish Kumar and without him the future of the organization will be weak. He also claimed that it would be difficult for JDU to gain seats in the coming elections.
Anant Singh will meet Nitish Kumar
Even after his expulsion, Anant Singh denied any distance in his relations with Nitish Kumar. He said that he will meet Nitish Kumar. His statement indicated that despite his displeasure with the party leadership, he does not want to take a direct aggressive stance against Nitish Kumar.
Why was action taken against JDU?
On October 24, JDU had expelled Anant Singh and his wife and former MLA Neelam Devi from the party for six years. The party alleged that both of them violated the instructions of the organization and took part in anti-party activities.
The main reason for the controversy was Anant Singh campaigning against JDU's official candidate Neeraj Kumar from Patna Graduate constituency in the Bihar Legislative Council elections. Anant Singh had supported Jan Suraj Party candidate Anuj Singh. The party has also recommended to the Assembly Speaker to take action under the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution to terminate the assembly membership of Anant Singh.
Now what will be the next step in Bihar politics?
After Anant Singh's announcement of forming his own party, his next step in Bihar politics will be under watch. However, he has not yet given any detailed information regarding the formation of the new party, its name or organizational structure. At present, his statement expresses his intention to adopt an independent political path after separating from JDU.
