Sharp attack on inflation, Parliament and Rahul Gandhi

Taking his point forward, the Congress President raised the issue of rising inflation in the country. He said that today inflation has reached its peak. The poor man who earlier used to eat dal and roti, is now forced to eat onion and roti because pulses are expensive, but the government has increased the prices of onion so much that it is like cutting the throat of the common people.

Referring to parliamentary proceedings, Kharge alleged that when Parliament is in session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah do not come inside out of fear. He said, “Rahul Gandhi has now gone out for some work, when he returns, he will repair these people properly. People of BJP only see Rahul Gandhi in their dreams.”

Remembered Babu's contribution, targeted RSS

Kharge paid tribute to the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Krishna Singh, and praised the social and economic reforms done by him. Kharge said that Babu strengthened democracy and worked for the advancement of weaker sections. He said that Babu himself came from the Bhumihar caste and at that time people from his community were the big landowners, yet for the sake of social justice he abolished the Zamindari system and implemented land reforms.

He further said that it was during Babu's tenure that industries and factories were established in Bihar. He campaigned against untouchability and got Dalits admitted into Baba Baidyanath Dham. Taking aim at RSS and BJP, Kharge said that even today these organizations are filled with people with the mentality of untouchability and peace cannot be established until the influence of RSS is eliminated from the country.

Mention of Nitish Kumar and Haldwani incident

Taking a dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Kharge said that those who once used to be the flag bearers of socialist ideology, have today sat in the lap of BJP and RSS. Only when ideology is weak, leaders adopt such a stance. Reminding the sacrifices of Congress, he said that Congress has made sacrifices for the country, Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi have given their lives, and today Rahul Gandhi is fighting for the country.

Apart from this, he mentioned an incident that took place on August 8, 2026 in Haldwani, Uttarakhand and said that the stage was 'purified' after a havan program. Even after so many years of independence, if such untouchable mentality exists in the society, then it is a matter of serious concern. Kharge alleged that till date Prime Minister Modi has not broken his silence on this issue of purification.

Appeal to save the Constitution and democracy

At the end of the speech, Kharge alleged that there is a deep nexus between the Central Government and the Election Commission and the government has brought a new law to protect the Chief Election Commissioner. He called upon the people of the country and the people of Bihar to take to the streets and protect their rights and the Constitution. Kharge said that today not democracy but dictatorship is being run in the country, against which everyone will have to fight together.
