To improve law and order in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, SSP BBGTS Murthy has made a major reshuffle and changed the in-charges of 26 police stations in one stroke. Under this new deployment list, 11 inspectors and 15 sub-inspectors have been given command of the police stations, while 5 sub-inspectors have been given the charge of the post. At the same time, four policemen (two inspectors and two sub-inspectors) involved in negligence and controversies have been sent to the line, and three inspectors have been relieved for other districts.
According to the order issued, in view of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, officers have been instructed to take charge after two days. In this reshuffle, Kharkhoda police station in-charge Samaypal Singh has been given the responsibility of Kotwali, Suman Kumar from Kankarkheda has been given the responsibility of Kankarkheda, Gaurav Vishnoi from Jani has been given the responsibility of Civil Lines and Cyber police station in-charge Mahavir Singh has been given the responsibility of Medical Police Station. However, after this transfer list came out, a round of discussions have started in the police department, because many such officers have been given the command of creamy police stations, who already have serious allegations or stains.
Questions have started being raised regarding the deployment of officers surrounded by controversies. For example, K-Block outpost in-charge of the medical area, Rahul Kumar (who had earlier received a bad entry from Noida) has been made in-charge of Dehligate police station. Similarly, Devendra Mishra, who faced embarrassment in the case of murder of a child in Mundali, has been made the police station incharge of Mawana, although this police station is of Inspector level. Apart from this, questions are being raised on the administrative functioning of SSI Dushyant Kumar, who was in the news in the case of firing in TP Nagar, as SO of Hastinapur and other controversial officers getting new police station.
