New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 'Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave 2026' at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Addressing the event, Modi said, from the discovery of zero, to number systems and astronomy, India's tradition has been of knowledge and discovery. Today we are taking this scientific heritage forward with modern technology and new confidence. Today we reach Mars in the first attempt itself. We reach the South Pole of the Moon where no one has ever reached, so I believe India must embrace future technologies, innovate boldly and lead the world in developing them.

Modi said, our aim is to develop such technology which empowers India and also contributes in solving the problems of humanity. Today India is the largest youth country in the world. We have the talent, the determination to do something new, we have to prepare a generation that will not only participate in emerging science and technology, but also lead it. Our feeling and our belief should be – 'We will do it'. Today, the skills on which the youth of India are thinking and the confidence with which they are moving forward are encouraging.
The PM further said, there was a time decades ago, when science and technology meant catch-up for India. Whenever something innovative happened in the world, that technology would reach us after a few years. We used to adopt it or make some improvements in it and take it forward. But today 21st century India is moving ahead with a new thinking and new confidence. We have seen an example of this during the Corona period. When many countries of the world were facing challenges regarding vaccine availability, India developed its own vaccine. India did vaccination on a large scale and also sent the vaccine to other countries. This is the confidence of 21st century India.
